Client: XLP
Technical specs: Canon 5D Mk II, AVID
The Background
Contrapositive director and head of video John Ford had travelled to Ghana with XLP in 2007 to raise money to build a school in one of its poorest villages.
XLP wanted to produce a series of films that profiled the work that had been completed and its effects.
The Solution
John returned to Ghana with XLP at the end of 2011 to film a follow up to the films made in 2007. This included spending time filming members of the community, the school and hearing the heart rending stories of some of the villagers first hand, as well as filming pieces to camera with CEO Patrick Regan.
This resulted in a series of films, shot with the amazing Canon 5D and beautifully cut together to convey the stories, the people and their environment as accurately and emotively as possible.
