Be Cambridge – Promote Suite of Films

Client: University of Cambridge

The Background

Russell Group universities have been under increasing pressure from the government and the media to ensure that they encourage those from less privileged backgrounds to apply for their courses. The University of Cambridge already has a good track record in this area with more than 60% of their applicants coming from state schools.

We worked with Cambridge University to create a suite of 7 films that demonstrated to those from less privileged backgrounds that Cambridge really is a viable option for them. To do this we spent time with students at a variety of events such as Summer Schools and Open Days and cut together a series of short films showing that if you are passionate about your subject and have the academic ability, Cambridge University really is open to anyone regardless of background.

The Solution

  • Produced a suite of seven films promoting the University's Open Days, Summer Schools and outreach events.
  • Filmed interviews and intercut with beautiful incidental shots and classy graphics at events and initiatives specifically aimed at these marginalised groups.
